The i24 news channel, which is based in the Israeli-occupied territories, revealed in a report on Tuesday that Egyptian authorities had rejected demands from Israel to join the US-led coalition in the Red Sea.
The report said an Israeli delegation that traveled to Cairo last week had failed to persuade the Egyptians to have an “effective contribution” to the coalition.
Only Bahrain has accepted to join US operations in waters off Yemen under an alleged mission to counter threats on shipping in the region.
Yemen’s ruling Houthi Ansarullah movement says it will continue to target ships linked to Israel until the regime stops an aggression on Gaza that has left more than 22,000 people dead since it started in early October.
